Step 1: Mixing the Ingredients
- Take a large bowl and add ground meat, bread crumbs, chopped onion, garlic, parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything gently with your hands. Do not over-mix, as it can make meatballs hard.
Step 2: Shaping the Meatballs
- Once the mixture is ready, take a small portion and roll it between your palms to form small round balls. You can keep them medium or small in size depending on your choice.
Step 3: Cooking the Meatballs
- Now you have two options:
- Pan Frying – Heat olive oil in a pan and cook meatballs until golden brown on all sides. It gives a crispy outside and juicy inside.
- Baking – Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Place meatballs on a tray and bake for 20 minutes. This method is healthier.
Step 4: Preparing the Sauce
- In another pan, heat olive oil. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 2 minutes. Then add tomato puree, salt, chili flakes, and oregano. Let it cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Step 5: Combining Meatballs and Sauce
- Finally, add your cooked meatballs into the sauce. Let them simmer for 5 minutes so that they absorb the flavors. Your delicious meatball dish is ready!
