Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs:
  • Ground meat beef, chicken, turkey, or lamb – 500g
  • Bread crumbs – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1 helps in binding
  • Onion – 1 medium finely chopped
  • Garlic – 2 cloves minced
  • Fresh parsley – 2 tbsp chopped
  • Salt – 1 tsp adjust as per taste
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp for frying or baking
For the Sauce (optional but highly recommended):
  • Tomato puree – 2 cups
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 small finely chopped
  • Garlic – 2 cloves chopped
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Red chili flakes – ½ tsp
  • Oregano or Italian seasoning – 1 tsp

Equipment

  • A mixing bowl
  • Chopping board and knife
  • Frying pan or baking tray
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

Step 1: Mixing the Ingredients
  1. Take a large bowl and add ground meat, bread crumbs, chopped onion, garlic, parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything gently with your hands. Do not over-mix, as it can make meatballs hard.
Step 2: Shaping the Meatballs
  1. Once the mixture is ready, take a small portion and roll it between your palms to form small round balls. You can keep them medium or small in size depending on your choice.
Step 3: Cooking the Meatballs
  1. Now you have two options:
  2. Pan Frying – Heat olive oil in a pan and cook meatballs until golden brown on all sides. It gives a crispy outside and juicy inside.
  3. Baking – Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Place meatballs on a tray and bake for 20 minutes. This method is healthier.
Step 4: Preparing the Sauce
  1. In another pan, heat olive oil. Add onion and garlic, sauté for 2 minutes. Then add tomato puree, salt, chili flakes, and oregano. Let it cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Step 5: Combining Meatballs and Sauce
  1. Finally, add your cooked meatballs into the sauce. Let them simmer for 5 minutes so that they absorb the flavors. Your delicious meatball dish is ready!
