Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 –2 shots espresso or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1 tablespoon tahini runny/creamy works best
  • 1 –2 teaspoons sweetener honey, maple syrup, brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract optional but really nice
  • Pinch of salt yes, salt — tiny pinch makes it taste richer
Optional Flavor Boosters
  • Cinnamon warm and bakery-like
  • Cardamom Middle Eastern café energy
  • Cocoa powder for mocha vibes
  • Nutmeg tiny pinch only
  • Sesame seeds for topping
  • Whipped cream if you’re feeling fancy

Equipment

  • Mug
  • Spoon.
  • Small saucepan OR microwave-safe cup
  • Measuring spoon
  • Milk frother
  • Blender
  • French press
  • Espresso maker

Method

Step 1: Brew Your Coffee
  1. Make:
  2. espresso, OR
  3. strong coffee
  4. You want it bold because tahini has a strong flavor too.
Step 2: Warm the Milk
  1. In a small saucepan:
  2. warm 1 cup milk on low heat
  3. Don’t boil it. Just warm until steamy.
  4. Microwave method:
  5. 60–90 seconds (depends on microwave)
  6. stop when hot but not bubbling
Step 3: Mix Tahini + Sweetener (The Secret Step)
  1. Here’s the trick:
  2. Don’t drop tahini directly into hot coffee and hope it behaves. It may clump or split.
  3. Instead, in your mug:
  4. add 1 tbsp tahini
  5. add sweetener
  6. add tiny pinch of salt
  7. add 1 tbsp warm milk
  8. Stir until smooth like a paste.
  9. This makes blending 10x easier. Trust me.
Step 4: Add Coffee
  1. Pour the hot coffee/espresso into the mug.
  2. Stir again. It should look creamy already.
Step 5: Froth Milk + Finish
  1. Froth the remaining milk:
  2. frother / blender / French press / whisk
  3. Pour into a mug.
  4. Top with:
  5. cinnamon
  6. sesame seeds
  7. drizzle honey (optional but… yum)
  8. Done.
  9. Sip slowly. Let your brain adjust to the sesame magic.
